Brain Bowl

Brain Bowl

The Brain Bowl

A high-fibre, high-fat snack designed to keep your brain and energy stable

This is one of my go-to afternoon snacks when I want something filling, nourishing and genuinely satisfying.

My 'brain bowl' is packed with fibre, healthy fats and antioxidants, which makes it great for steady energy and focus throughout the afternoon.

It also comes together in minutes and feels more like dessert than a “healthy snack”.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp coconut yoghurt

  • 1 tbsp psyllium husk

  • 2 tbsp chia seeds

  • Frozen raspberries

  • Coconut flakes

  • Bee pollen

  • Peanut butter or almond butter

  • Hemp seeds

Method

  1. Add coconut yoghurt, psyllium husk and chia seeds to a bowl.

  2. Mix well until a pudding-like texture forms.

  3. If the mixture is too thick, add a small splash of water and stir.

  4. Top with frozen raspberries, hemp seeds, bee pollen and coconut flakes.

  5. Finish with a generous spoon of peanut butter or almond butter.

Why these ingredients are so powerful

Coconut yoghurt
Provides healthy fats and beneficial probiotics that support gut health.

Psyllium husk
An excellent source of soluble fibre that supports digestion and helps keep you feeling full for longer.

Chia seeds
Packed with omega-3 fatty acids, fibre and plant protein. They help support brain health and stable energy.

Raspberries
Rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, which help support immune health and reduce inflammation.

Coconut flakes
Contain healthy fats that provide slow-release energy.

Bee pollen
Naturally rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that may support energy and overall wellbeing.

Nut butter (peanut or almond)
Provides protein and healthy fats that help keep blood sugar stable.

Hemp seeds
A great plant-based source of protein, omega fats and essential minerals like magnesium and iron.

Why I call it a “Brain Bowl”

This bowl combines fibre, healthy fats, protein and antioxidants, which help support stable energy levels and focus.

It’s perfect as a:

  • mid-afternoon snack

  • post-workout refuel

  • nourishing breakfast option

And the best part is it takes about two minutes to make - love!
