Who is Hail the Kale?
Hail the Kale has evolved significantly since its inception in 2018 as an Instagram food blog. Founded by Marnie, a passionate designer and former art teacher with a deep appreciation for fresh, local ingredients, the brand has grown into a trusted name in Western Australia, now stocked in over 50 locations.
Initially focused on sharing healthy, produce-driven recipes, Hail the Kale has expanded its offerings to include a range of gluten-free, wholefood meals and pantry staples. This expansion reflects our commitment to providing nourishing and delicious options that cater to various dietary needs.

It started with a love for healthy feel good food
With a background in design and art education, Marnie has always been driven by creativity and a love for bringing new ideas to life. This passion sparked the creation of Hail the Kale, which began as a humble Instagram food blog in 2018—sharing simple, nourishing recipes using fresh, local produce.
From there, it grew into a market stall at the Claremont Farmers Market, where Hail the Kale found its people—a community of like-minded food lovers who valued real ingredients, vibrant flavour, and feel-good living.

Designing, creating and experimenting
With a love for packaging design, branding, puns, and all things marketing, Marnie grew Hail the Kale online while the world went into lockdown. Using foam eskies, car boots, and a crew of helpful friends, hundreds of nourish bowls were delivered to homes and offices across Perth during peak COVID.
This chapter helped shape the brand—giving insight into what people really wanted: gluten-free, feel-good food that was nourishing, filling, and looked as good as it tasted. It also sparked the beginnings of the Hail the Kale community—built on connection, creativity, and real food made with care

Defining Hail the Kale
Hail the Kale officially launched and began its leafy green journey—one filled with warehouse fit-outs, sleepless nights, and steep business lessons. Marnie quickly discovered there are no shortcuts in building something real—it’s messy, amazing, and far from the curated feeds you see on Instagram.
From rotating online menus to retail-ready product lines, Hail the Kale has grown into a trusted, Perth-based healthy meal brand. We proudly use premium WA produce and collaborate with local suppliers to craft products that deliver on flavour, function, and quality—every single time.

2025 & Beyond
In 2024, we launched our Drizzle Range—a trio of bold, clean-label dressings designed to elevate everyday meals. Locally crafted in WA, they’re low-carb, gluten-free, and made with premium wholefood ingredients.
Following this, our Crunch Range joined the lineup: nutrient-dense nuts and seeds, gently dehydrated for 24 hours to preserve natural enzymes and deliver irresistible texture. Packaged in convenient 150g bags, they’re perfect as toppers or snacks on the go.
As we grow, our mission stays the same—to inspire holistic living through real, nourishing food made with integrity. Hail the Kale continues to champion local produce and reimagine healthy eating, one flavour-packed product at a time.
